How the numbers work

  • UPC-A: 11 data digits → check digit via standard alternating weight sum mod 10.
  • EAN-13: 12 data digits → check digit with the EAN weight pattern.
  • SVG bars follow binary module patterns for the encoded digits.
  • Does not validate whether a prefix is registered to you.
  • Not a GS1 membership or barcode licensing service.

FAQ

Can I sell retail with a number I typed here?

Only if you already own the GS1 prefix. Inventing digits can collide with real products and break retailer compliance.

Do you print physical labels?

No. You get on-screen SVG/downloadable artwork to place in your own label workflow.

Is ISBN or Code 128 supported?

This tool focuses on UPC-A and EAN-13 check digits and bars. Other symbologies are out of scope for now.
